Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. On October 21, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP on the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she first gained notoriety. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012, with the debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw her continue to release her music on the web, including her own released single Bound. The 21st day of July, 2015, Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to use it together with Rihanna. The official signing ceremony was held to Dreamville Records on 8 December. She was featured on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. On the 21st of October in 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she accompanied by EarthGang. In 2018, she went on to appear on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video to accompany it was also released on September 5th. The 9th of November saw her release two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she released No One and Pedigree. She was featured with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16and later released the song as a solo single on her first album. The song was followed by a music video in February 20th, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube within the first week. She supported the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of 2018.
